A ten-year-old boy was struck by a motorcycle this Sunday afternoon in the Casal da Mira neighborhood of Amadora.
The child received on-site medical attention from a doctor with the Medical Emergency and Resuscitation Vehicle (VMER) and was subsequently transported in serious condition to the Hospital of Santa Maria in Lisbon.
The incident occurred at approximately 5:50 PM, and the motorcyclist fled the scene.
The Amadora branch of the Polícia de Segurança Pública (PSP) has since located the vehicle, which will be towed and examined for evidence.
Authorities are continuing their efforts to locate the suspect.
Attempts to verify the information with both the PSP and the Amadora Volunteer Firefighters have been unsuccessful.
