
A child was transported to the Hospital Dona Estefânia in Lisbon after suffering burns, according to a source from the Alto Alentejo Sub-Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command. The transport was carried out by a helicopter from the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM).
The alert for the fire, which occurred on Rua do Estanque Novo, was issued at 6:00 PM, the source reported.
Twenty operatives from the Monforte Fire Department, INEM, and GNR, supported by seven vehicles, were deployed to the scene. This included an emergency and resuscitation medical vehicle (VMER) from Portalegre, an Immediate Life Support (SIV) ambulance from Elvas, and the helicopter.
