
A student from Escola Secundária de Ponte de Lima has donated a vital signs monitor to the Pediatric Service of the Instituto Português de Oncologia (IPO) in Porto, as part of his final project for the Technical Sports course.
The announcement was made by IPO on their social media, explaining that the vital signs monitor was donated following a charity walk organized by the 12th-grade student to mark International Childhood Cancer Day.
“As part of his final project for the Technical Sports course, a 12th-grade student from Escola Secundária de Ponte de Lima donated a vital signs monitor to the Pediatric Service at IPO Porto, contributing to the improved clinical monitoring of children and young people undergoing treatment,” stated the publication.
IPO Porto expressed gratitude for “the charitable gesture, which shows that empathy and solidarity know no age,” underscoring “the importance of community involvement in the institutional mission of progressively improving oncological healthcare.”
