A youth, aged 15, has reportedly gone missing near the Vouga River in Cacia, Aveiro municipality, prompting a search operation initiated by the National Maritime Authority (AMN). The teenager’s disappearance was reported on the night of April 11th.
The alert was received around 11 PM from the GNR of Cacia, after the boy’s bicycle was found near the river Vouga. This discovery led to an immediate search operation involving the Local Command of the Maritime Police of Aveiro, the Humanitarian Association of the Volunteer Firefighters of Aveiro, and the GNR, as noted in a statement issued to the media.
On Saturday morning, search efforts were bolstered by the addition of crew members from the Aveiro Lifeboat Station and elements from the Novo Aveiro Firefighters, equipped with a diving team. Furthermore, the GNR enhanced the operation by deploying drones.
The search operations are being coordinated by the Captain of the Port and Local Commander of the Maritime Police of Aveiro.
