The project involves an investment of around 22 million euros, financed by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR).
Loures City Council, in the Greater Lisbon area, is going to build a housing complex next to the North/South Axis, in the parish of Camarate. There will be 152new homes at controlled costs, financed by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR). The investment is around 22 million euros.
FOCUS GROUP, which won the public tender promoted by the municipality and advised by the Order of Architects – Southern Section, has already delivered the execution project to the municipality, and work should begin in 2024, according to the statement sent to the press.
Located in the parish of Camarate and with a total construction area of 14,280 square meters (m2), the housing complex consists of eight blocks, each organized into two adjoining buildings, with four floors, for a total of 16 buildings and 152 homes . In terms of types, the project includes 56 one-bedroom, 45 two-bedroom, 48 three-bedroom and 4 four-bedroom units.
Each block consists of two buildings, with independent access, and two or three apartments per floor. All the first floors of the development’s plots are intended for residential use, with the exception of one of the buildings where it is planned to install commerce or services, and 174 outdoor parking spaces are also guaranteed.
“The housing crisis facing the country is the result of a lack of supply. There has been a brutal disinvestment in building new housing. That’s why it’s imperative to increase public supply and create incentives for the private sector to build in the most necessary and needy segments,” comments Nuno Malheiro da Silva, manager of FOCUS GROUP.
He believes that “the Loures council’s project not only seeks to respond to the lack of public housing in the municipality, but also to urbanize a territory that has not always grown in a planned way”.
