160 people expected at Christmas lunch dedicated to the homeless in Lisbon

The Centro de Apoio ao Sem Abrigo (CASA) plans to host approximately 160 people at its traditional Christmas lunch for the homeless, scheduled for December 13, Saturday, at 11 a.m., at the Metropolitano de Lisboa facilities in Pontinha.

According to a statement from CASA, the venue will have 40 tables, each set to accommodate four people. Meals are donated by Missão Continente, which will also distribute kits containing socks, hygiene items, and first aid supplies.

The event will feature a mobile health unit provided by the Lisbon City Council, administering Covid-19 and flu vaccines, along with a health screening workshop led by students from the Lisbon Faculty of Medicine.

For self-esteem and grooming needs, a hairdressing area will be available, with several professionals offering free haircuts to attendees. CASA also mentioned that there would be a stall selling handmade products, with proceeds benefiting the organization.
