An 18-year-old man has been arrested by the Polícia Judiciária (PJ), strongly suspected of committing the crimes of aggravated robbery and possession of a prohibited weapon at a historic coin and valuable items shop in Vila Nova de Gaia.
In a statement, the PJ detailed that the incident occurred on August 11 and involved the suspect using a firearm in collaboration with another man, who is already in preventive detention following judicial measures.
The two suspects allegedly stole various artifacts worth thousands of euros.
“The investigative efforts undertaken by the PJ have yielded relevant evidence, leading to the identification, location, and arrest of this other suspect,” the statement noted.
The detainee, a foreign national with a criminal history involving drug trafficking and firearm possession, is to be presented to judicial authorities for preliminary questioning and the application of coercive measures.
