
An 18-year-old woman has been arrested by the GNR on charges of domestic violence against her 51-year-old mother and 77-year-old grandmother, whom she threatened and assaulted both physically and verbally, in the municipality of Serpa, it was announced today.
In a statement, the GNR explained that the arrest was made on Wednesday by the Core for Investigation and Support to Specific Victims (NIAVE) in Beja, part of the region’s Territorial Command.
The military received a complaint of domestic violence occurring in the village of Vale de Vargo, in the municipality of Serpa, Beja district.
As a result of the investigations carried out by the GNR, it was determined “that the suspect threatened and physically and verbally attacked the victims,” her grandmother and mother, which led to the execution of an arrest warrant.
The detainee appeared before the Serpa Judicial Court and was released on the condition that she is prohibited from contacting the victims by any means or through other people.
She is also forbidden from approaching her grandmother and mother within a radius of 250 meters, with monitoring via electronic bracelet.
