An 18-year-old was arrested in Barreiro for allegedly attempting to murder another man in the early hours of August 27, as announced by the Polícia de Segurança Pública (PSP) on Monday, September 1, to Notícias ao Minuto.
According to the police, officers received a call about the situation around 4 a.m. last Wednesday. At the scene, they found an individual injured with knife wounds, as well as a suspect still holding the weapon used in the crime.
The officers discovered that moments earlier, the suspect and victim had been in an argument during which the now-detained young man inflicted “four penetrating wounds to the chest area” of his rival.
The victim was transported to Barreiro Hospital, where he received appropriate medical attention.
The suspect was arrested and presented for an initial judicial interrogation, eventually being released with the condition of biweekly reporting to the nearest police station to his residence.
