
The transport company reported a 12% increase compared to the same period last year, when 17.1 million passengers were transported.
In a statement, Carris Metropolitana also disclosed a general increase in demand from January to October this year compared to 2024.
“Between January 1 and October 31, over 162 million passengers were transported, compared to the 144 million reached in the same period last year, representing an increase of over 13%,” it added.
October also saw a record number of passengers transported in a single day, with over 763,000 people traveling on Carris Metropolitana on the 15th.
Carris Metropolitana is a brand created for interurban buses in the Lisbon region, under the coordination of the company Transportes Metropolitanos de Lisboa, a public management entity dependent on AML.
