A 19-year-old man was arrested by the Public Security Police (PSP) on Saturday, November 29, in Faro, on suspicion of drug trafficking.
In a statement sent to newsrooms on Sunday, the PSP noted that “the arrest occurred in flagrante delicto” following “a report made by a citizen, which allowed for a swift police intervention.”
The authorities seized 52 doses of cocaine “already portioned for direct sale,” a firearm, a replica firearm, ammunition, a bladed weapon, materials used in the preparation and weighing of the narcotic substance, as well as a significant amount of cash.
The detainee will be brought before the Faro Court for judicial questioning and the application of coercive measures.
