An earthquake of magnitude 2.9 on the Richter scale was felt today in the municipality of Evora, without causing personal injury or property damage, according to the Portuguese Institute of Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).

In a statement, the IPMA said that the earthquake had its epicenter about 16 kilometers south-southeast of Evora and was recorded at 5:40 am at the stations of the Seismic Network of the mainland.

This quake was felt with maximum intensity III/IV (modified Mercalli scale) in the municipality of Évora.
