A 20-year-old man has been detained by the Polícia Judiciária (PJ) on suspicion of attempted qualified homicide and possession of a prohibited weapon in Matosinhos.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the PJ reported that the incident occurred on Monday afternoon when the suspect and the victim, who are neighbors, got into an argument.
“The suspect, considering himself owed a debt, refused to return tools left at his house by the victim and, without any justification, entered the victim’s home with a firearm, firing four shots in the victim’s direction, narrowly missing him,” the statement reads.
Following the investigative procedures, the PJ seized the firearm used, which was still loaded.
The detainee will be brought before a judicial authority for an initial court hearing.
