
A 21-year-old man was arrested last Monday, May 12, on suspicion of carrying a prohibited weapon at the Gare do Oriente railway station in Lisbon.
According to the Public Security Police (PSP), in a statement sent to newsrooms on Saturday, the arrest took place at 9:15 p.m., and the “suspect was found in possession of a knife with a total length of 33.5 cm.”
The detainee was notified to appear at the Local Criminal Instance – Small Crime Section in Lisbon.
In the report, the PSP also emphasized that the Public Transport Security Division “maintains continuous and rigorous surveillance of the railway and Lisbon Metro public transport networks to ensure the safety and peace of passengers and their belongings.”
