A young 22 year old, of foreign nationality, drowned, on Friday, in the Guadiana River, in Mértola, in the district of Beja, after saving a friend, told Lusa GNR source.
Source of the Sub-Regional Command Emergency and Civil Protection of Baixo Alentejo indicated that the alert for the disappearance of a woman, on site Azenhas do Guadiana, It was given to 20.54 hours.
The GNR source said the body was found at around 11pm.
They were mobilized to the site, according to the Sub-Regional Command, 26 operational, supported by three vessels and 11 vehicles, Mértola firefighters, the Captaincy of the Port of Vila Real de Santo António, the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM) and the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority.
