26th National Camp of the Association of the Scouts of Portugal starts Sunday in Faro

The 26th National Camp of the Scouts of Portugal beginsAugust 13. It will take place from August 13 to 19, in Faro.
this is an eco-event that aims to set an example by adopting responsible environmental practices, ranging from the use of biodegradable detergents, waste separation and the use of reusable bottles.

More than 2,500 Scouts, from various regions of the country, in a meeting that aims to promote the importance of sustainability in today’s world and the importance of building a more balanced society, using environmental education as a means to raise awareness among participants and the entire surrounding community.

With the motto “Get Involved, Leave No One Behind”, this camp aims to highlight a set of priorities and aspirations agreed among most countries of the United Nations: the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The young scouts, in addition to the usual adventures, such as extreme sports, water sports, races with rolling carts, hiking, among others, will also do community work in the region that hosts this great camp.

All activities, from games, raids, constructions, among others, were designed to ensure respect for the planet, respecting its resources and ecosystems. This year’s edition coincides with the celebration of AEP’s 110th anniversary and the aim is to take advantage of the meeting to alert young people to the importance of building a more balanced, equitable, true and fair society, putting the theme of sustainability in the spotlight. ACNAC is a national scout camp, the largest and most diverse scouting activity in Portugal.
