A suspect allegedly started a fire using direct flame, posing a threat to a significant forest area and several industrial buildings in the vicinity, according to an official statement.
The Judicial Police (PJ) indicated that the suspect’s actions were driven by a fascination with the development of fire and the subsequent firefighting efforts. The individual reportedly sought to witness the firefighting operations by alerting emergency services to the blaze.
The detained individual, a resident of Folgosa, is expected to attend a preliminary judicial hearing to determine potential preventive measures, as noted by the PJ.
The arrest was carried out with assistance from the Maia unit of the National Republican Guard (GNR).
