A 33-year-old woman was stabbed by her partner on Friday night on Rua S. Dinis in Porto.
The victim was transported to Hospital de São João with “injuries to the neck area” and has since been discharged from the hospital, according to a source from the Metropolitan Command of the Public Security Police (PSP) of Porto.
The same source stated that the assault occurred in the context of domestic violence inside a residence.
The alert was given between 9:00 PM and 9:40 PM.
The suspect was not detained as the authorities did not catch the episode in the act, but the PSP is already investigating.
Domestic violence incidents are recurring. It should be noted that on Friday, a 45-year-old man was detained by the Judiciary Police in Loulé for the crimes of rape and aggravated domestic violence.
Over 13 years, the suspect subjected the victim, a 50-year-old woman, to “physical and psychological abuse, physical injuries, and sexual offenses.”
Much of the abuse and threats were allegedly committed in the presence of the couple’s daughter, currently 13 years old.
The Judiciary Police detained a man on suspicion of assaulting and raping his wife over 13 years in Loulé. Some of the violent acts occurred in front of their daughter, currently 13 years old.
