Thirty-five counties in the interior north and center and the Algarve have a maximum fire danger today, according to the Portuguese Institute of Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).

According to IPMA, maximum danger is declared in counties of the districts of Bragança, Castelo Branco, Viseu, Santarém, Portalegre and Faro.

About 80 municipalities in the districts of Bragança, Vila Real, Guarda, Viseu, Leiria, Coimbra, Castelo Branco, Portalegre, Santarém, Lisboa, Évora, Beja and Faro present a very high danger.

In high danger is the entire region of Alentejo and about 80 counties in the districts of Lisbon, Santarém, Leiria, Coimbra, Viseu, Porto, Braga, Viana do Castelo, Vila Real and Bragança.

The fire danger, determined by IPMA, has five levels, ranging from low to maximum, and the calculations are obtained from the air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed, and amount of precipitation in the last 24 hours.

The weather forecasts indicate a small drop in temperature today, except for the maximum temperature in the eastern Algarve, where there will be an increase, slightly cloudy or clear skies, with morning cloudiness on the west coast, and sometimes strong winds on the coast south of Cabo da Roca and in the highlands.

Maximum temperatures will vary between 22º in Aveiro and Viana do Castelo and 36º in Faro.
