A 35-year-old man was arrested last Monday, July 28, by the Public Security Police (PSP) in Alfragide, Amadora, to serve a six-year prison sentence for drug trafficking.
In a statement issued to newsrooms on Sunday, the Lisbon Metropolitan Command of the PSP reported the execution of an arrest warrant for a 35-year-old man suspected of drug trafficking.
The warrant, issued by the Judicial Authority of the Lisbon Judicial Court, relates to crimes committed in 2022 in the Loures district, which resulted in a six-year prison sentence.
“After completing all legal procedures, he was taken to the Lisbon Prison for the execution of his sentence,” the PSP stated.
The authority emphasized that, through its specialized fugitive capture teams, it will continue to prioritize the location and arrest of convicts to ensure the proper functioning of the justice system and, specifically, uphold the underlying reasons for general prevention inherent in prison sentences.
