A 36-year-old man was caught in the act and arrested on Thursday in Covilhã, located in the district of Castelo Branco, on suspicion of domestic violence against his 36-year-old partner, the GNR announced today.
In a statement, the military force reported that the arrest originated from a complaint that brought GNR officers to the location, resulting in the suspect’s detention.
The detainee has been named a defendant, and the case has been referred to the Covilhã Judicial Court.
The GNR emphasizes that “domestic violence is a public crime, and reporting it is a collective responsibility.”
