An official from the Baixo Alentejo Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command reported that authorities were alerted to the accident at 5:10 PM.
The incident occurred at kilometer 57.700 on ER265, a road connecting Mértola to Mina de S. Domingos, specifically at the intersection leading to the locality of Sapos in the parish of Santana de Cambas.
Contacted, the GNR’s Beja Territorial Command confirmed the fatality involved the motorcycle’s driver, a 38-year-old man.
The body was transported to the forensic services at Beja hospital.
Eleven emergency personnel were deployed to the accident site, supported by five vehicles, including resources from the fire department, GNR, and the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM), particularly the emergency and resuscitation medical vehicle (VMER) from the district hospital.
