A 40-year-old man reportedly fell from a cliff at João de Arens beach in Portimão on Tuesday. The victim received assistance from the crew of the Ferragudo Lifeguard Station.
In a statement, the National Maritime Authority reported that an alert was issued at 1:37 PM indicating that a man had fallen in a hard-to-reach area.
Immediately, personnel from the Portimão Maritime Police Command, Ferragudo Lifeguard Station crew, and the Humanitarian Association of Voluntary Firefighters of Portimão were deployed.
Upon arrival at the site, it was found that the victim had fallen onto the sandy beach and was promptly assisted.
Subsequently, the man was transported to the Portimão Marina and then to a hospital.
The Portimão Maritime Police Command is handling the incident.
