A 45-year-old woman was arrested last Saturday, September 6, by the National Republican Guard (GNR) in the municipality of Moita on suspicion of domestic violence involving a bladed weapon.
In a statement, the GNR reported that they responded immediately to a complaint, where they found the victim, a 29-year-old man, with injuries to his back.
The patrol on the scene provided first aid, and emergency medical services were subsequently called.
During the investigation, the GNR located and arrested the suspect.
The woman has already appeared before the Lisbon Judicial Court and was subjected to the coercive measure of “bi-weekly appearances at the police station in her area of residence.”
The GNR highlights that “domestic violence is a public crime, and reporting it is a collective responsibility.”
