The Alentejo Coastal Sub-Regional Command for Emergency and Civil Protection has reported a fatal accident that occurred at kilometer 548.3 on the IC1. The alert was received at 7:40 AM. The motorcyclist, traveling from north to south, lost control of the vehicle, according to officials.
A spokesperson from the Setúbal Territorial Command of the GNR corroborated that the victim was a 46-year-old man.
The victim’s body was taken to the legal medicine services at the Alentejo Coastal Hospital (HLA) in the municipality of Santiago do Cacém, Setúbal district, authorities confirmed.
A total of 13 operatives were dispatched to the scene, supported by seven vehicles. This included resources from the fire department, GNR, and the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM), utilizing the medical emergency and resuscitation vehicle (VMER) from HLA and the immediate life support ambulance (SIV) from Alcácer do Sal.
