An announcement from the Command of Portalegre’s National Republican Guard (GNR) revealed that officers from the Sousel Territorial Post responded to a disturbance complaint and subsequently “located and identified” a suspect found in possession of two prohibited weapons.
The man was “immediately arrested,” and further inspection at his residence led to the seizure of two additional weapons, the report added.
The operation resulted in the confiscation of an assault weapon, a 5.5 mm caliber airgun, a 6.35 mm caliber pistol, a 12-gauge shotgun, and several rounds of ammunition.
The suspect was formally charged, and the incident has been reported to the Judicial Court of Fronteira.
