“We received an alert for a drowning in Ponte das Porcas, Ínsua. The incident resulted in one fatality,” stated the Viseu Dão Lafões Civil Protection Sub-regional Command.
The same source indicated that “the alert was issued at 14:47, and the death was declared on-site around 17:00 by the VMER team” (Emergency Medical and Resuscitation Vehicle).
A source from the National Republican Guard (GNR) informed the Lusa agency that the drowning occurred in the Pindelo stream, in the parish of Ínsua, in the municipality of Penalva do Castelo, Viseu district.
On the scene were six operatives supported by three vehicles from the Penalva do Castelo Volunteer Firefighters and a team from the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM) and the GNR.
