The incident occurred between Galveias, in the municipality of Ponte de Sor, and Avis.
The Alto Alentejo Sub-Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command reported that the accident alert was issued at 11:49 am. The fatality was declared on-site by a doctor from the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM) helicopter, which was dispatched to assist in the rescue operations.
Seventeen operatives were mobilized to the scene, including personnel from the Avis firefighters, INEM, and the National Republican Guard (GNR), supported by seven vehicles. Among the resources deployed were a Rapid Response Ambulance from Ponte de Sor and a helicopter.
