An incident occurred at Parque da Cidade around 11:00 PM on Thursday, resulting in a man being transported to Beja Hospital and subsequently transferred to a Lisbon hospital for further examinations.
The victim, considered seriously injured, “suffered several facial injuries,” it was reported.
The attackers were apprehended by police shortly after in the vicinity of the incident, although the motives for the assault remain unknown, it was added.
The suspects were formally identified as defendants and appeared in court today for an initial judicial hearing. All were released pending the outcome of the investigation, according to police sources.
A representative from the Baixo Alentejo Sub-Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command indicated that the alert for the incident was issued at 11:10 PM on Thursday. Five operatives from Beja firefighters and the police were mobilized to the scene, supported by two vehicles.
