A collision between a heavy goods vehicle and a passenger car occurred around 2:44 PM, resulting in the death of a 65-year-old woman, as reported by Bruno Almeida, the commander of the Anadia Volunteer Firefighters.
Two other individuals sustained “apparently minor injuries”: a woman approximately 30 years old and a man in his 40s.
“The road has been closed since that time, and clean-up operations and debris removal are still ongoing [as of around 5:30 PM],” he stated.
According to the Anadia Fire Department commander, 14 personnel were on site, supported by five vehicles from their unit, as well as the National Institute for Medical Emergency (INEM), the Aveiro Emergency and Resuscitation Medical Vehicle (VMER), and the Águeda Immediate Life Support ambulance, involving a total of five personnel.
“The GNR (Republican National Guard) of Anadia and Oliveira do Bairro was also present, along with the Aveiro Traffic Accident Investigation Unit, comprising a total of 10 officers, supported by five vehicles,” he concluded.
