A 75-year-old taxi driver was apprehended by the Public Security Police (PSP) at Lisbon Airport on April 7, suspected of engaging in speculative pricing practices.
In a statement released Sunday, the PSP indicated that the arrest was carried out by the Airport Security and Border Control Division at 11:50 a.m.
“The suspect altered the monetary value of the transportation, receiving more than was stipulated, in this particular case, an excess of 34.00 euros over the actual price,” the statement disclosed.
The detainee has been released and notified for the initial interrogation as a detained defendant.
The “taxi vehicle was precautiously seized, pending judicial review.”
