The deputy chief of the Fundão Volunteer Firefighters, Pedro Caldinho, stated that the accident occurred in an agricultural area and that the death was confirmed at the scene by the doctor from the Medical Emergency and Resuscitation Vehicle.
Pedro Caldinho added that the rescue operation was carried out, and when the woman was removed from the well, she was already deceased.
The alert was raised at 8:50 a.m., and on-site were 12 operatives supported by five vehicles in the Castelo Branco district.
