The alert for a traffic accident on EN 206/João XXI Avenue in Vermoim, Vila Nova de Famalicão, was issued at 07:30.
According to the GNR, the fatal victim, an 84-year-old man, was the driver of one of the vehicles involved in the accident.
The accident also resulted in three minor injuries who were transported to Famalicão Hospital.
Responding to the scene were the Famalicenses Firefighters with 14 personnel, four ambulances, a rescue unit, the GNR, and the National Institute of Medical Emergency.
