A vehicle accident occurred on Municipal Road 1029 (EM1029), in Quinta do Anjo, a parish in the municipality of Palmela, as confirmed by an official from the Sub-Regional Command for Emergency and Civil Protection of the Setúbal Peninsula.
The accident resulted in one fatality, who was transported to the forensic services at São Bernardo Hospital in Setúbal, along with four injured individuals. Among the injured, two sustained serious injuries and two had minor injuries; they were taken to São José Hospital in Lisbon.
The victim has been identified as a 36-year-old man, according to a source from the Setúbal Territorial Command of the GNR.
The injured individuals are all men as well, with the seriously injured aged 22 and 23, and the slightly injured aged 22 and 25, the GNR added.
The incident drew a response from over 20 emergency personnel, supported by 10 vehicles, including units from the fire department, GNR, and the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM), with the Setúbal medical emergency and resuscitation vehicle (VMER) present at the scene.
The investigation into the accident is being conducted by the Setúbal Traffic Accident Investigation Team (NICAV) of the GNR.
