The Festival Jazz da Batalha, produced by the Associação Jazz de Leiria for the municipality, will commence on Friday at the Salão da Junta de Freguesia de São Mamede with the project “Songsayer” by Rita Maria and Nuno Costa. The performance is scheduled to begin at 9:30 PM.
The festival’s second guest, the João Barradas trio, will bring jazz to the Largo da Praça da Fonte do Reguengo do Fetal on Saturday, starting at 9:30 PM.
On the last weekend of August, saxophonist César Cardoso will perform his new album “Origins” at the Largo da Capela de São Bento in Golpilheira on the 29th at 9:30 PM.
Concluding the festival, the Orquestra Jazz de Leiria will play outside the Mosteiro da Batalha on the 31st, beginning at 6:00 PM. The band will feature guest singer Kiko Pereira during this performance.
The Festival Jazz da Batalha began in 2024, initiated by the municipality to decentralize cultural offerings across districts and attract visitors to different areas of the county.
All concerts are free of charge.
