According to the deputy commander of the Alto Tâmega and Barroso sub-region, thus far, three vacant houses and an agricultural warehouse have been affected.
The fire entered the Chaves municipality today, coming from Galicia, Spain, through the Cambedo da Raia area and impacted several villages such as Agrela, Torre, Couto, Vilela Seca, Outeiro Seco, and the Chaves business area.
Strong winds were the primary challenge in firefighting efforts.
On Monday, the fire had already crossed the border in the Vilar de Perdizes area, Montalegre municipality.
According to the website of the National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection (ANEPC), by 11:20 PM, 376 personnel and 121 vehicles were deployed for this incident, which began on national territory at 10:25 AM on Monday in Vilar de Perdizes.
