
According to data from Banco de Portugal, the amount sent by Portuguese emigrants in the first six months of this year has surpassed by only 0.14% the 2,101.21 million euros sent in the first semester of last year.
Conversely, foreigners working in Portugal sent 8.56% more compared to the 417.16 million euros sent in the same period in 2024.
With respect to the Portuguese-speaking African Countries (PALOP), Portuguese citizens living there sent 134.62 million euros to Portugal, marking a 4.53% increase compared to the 128.78 million euros sent in the same period last year.
On the other hand, Lusophone Africans working in Portugal sent 57.73 million euros during the same period, indicating a 20.5% rise compared to the 47.89 million euros sent in the first semester of last year.
