The Pestana Hotel Group, a multinational hospitality organization of Portuguese origin, announced this Thursday that it has secured a spot in the top 100 of the annual Hotels Magazine ranking, which it describes as “one of the most prestigious publications in the global sector.”
The group ranks 96th, being “the only Portuguese player to feature among the 100 largest in the world,” as stated in a press release accessible to Notícias ao Minuto.
In the same note, José Theotónio, CEO of Pestana Hotel Group, highlights that being “recognized among the world’s 100 largest hotel groups is the result of decades of consistent work, a sustained international expansion strategy, and the ability of our teams to transform each hotel into a reference for quality and experience.”
“This milestone reinforces our ambition to make the Pestana Hotel Group increasingly relevant on the international scene,” he adds.
It is also noted that the Portuguese group holds the “4th position in the Iberian region and 13th in the European landscape,” underscoring the Pestana brand’s significance in the international hotel industry, as per the released statement.
“This achievement strengthens the Pestana Hotel Group’s position as an international reference hotel group, with a presence in 16 countries across three continents, providing differentiated experiences to guests in all markets where it operates, while maintaining high standards of quality and innovation in each unit,” the group emphasizes in the same release.
This ranking, the Portuguese brand explains, “annually classifies the largest hotel groups globally based on the number of rooms and operational properties.”
“In 2024, Pestana Hotel Group totaled 12,041 rooms and 109 hotels – one more hotel and 35 additional rooms compared to 2023. This performance allowed it to climb nine positions from the previous year, when it occupied the 105th place,” the company details in the same communiqué.
