The risk of wildfire is expected to increase on Saturday, according to the institute’s forecasts.
This danger, determined by IPMA, has five levels ranging from reduced to maximum. Calculations are based on air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed, and precipitation amounts in the past 24 hours.
IPMA forecasts for today indicate slightly cloudy or clear skies in the mainland, with more cloudiness in the Central Coast and Costa Vicentina until mid-morning and a slight rise in temperature, especially in the north and center.
Minimum temperatures will range between 13 degrees Celsius (in Leiria and Guarda) and 20 (in Castelo Branco), while maximum temperatures will range between 26 (in Aveiro) and 36 (in Évora and Santarém).
