Jerome Powell stated that the Fed is in a “delicate situation,” as the new tariffs imposed by the U.S. administration start to impact consumer prices, with the risk of reigniting inflation.
The official was speaking at the Fed’s annual symposium in Jackson Hole.
The next meeting of the U.S. central bank is scheduled for September 16-17, with analysts anticipating the possibility of a rate cut.
