A 32-year-old man was arrested by the Public Security Police (PSP) after robbing a commercial establishment in the city of Braga, announced the police force on Tuesday.
In a statement, the PSP detailed that they received a phone call reporting a theft inside a store. Officers were dispatched to the scene, where they discovered that the suspect “had stolen various items and then used physical force to assault employees who attempted to intercept him.”
Subsequently, the man “fled the scene.”
After conducting inquiries, the suspect was intercepted and detained by the PSP.
The same notice stated that the detainee is already known to law enforcement for committing multiple theft-related crimes.
