CMVM warns of fraudulent contacts impersonating the entity

The CMVM has issued a warning about fraudulent contacts being reported, which are carried out via telephone calls, WhatsApp messages, and emails.

The organization advises ignoring such contacts and urges individuals not to click on links or download any attachments included in the messages.

“The CMVM never contacts investors via the WhatsApp application, and official CMVM contacts are exclusively made through senders with the ‘@cmvm.pt’ domain, as these are the only legitimate addresses,” the statement reads.

The entity further stated that due to the misuse of its image for fraudulent activities, it will take appropriate measures with the competent legal authorities.

If there is any suspicion, individuals can contact the CMVM through the Investor Support Line at 800 205 339 or by sending a message to the email: in********@**vm.pt.
