
“During the first seven months of 2025, 13,200 mortgage contracts were signed under the state guarantee scheme, amounting to a total of 2.5 billion euros,” the organization stated in a note on its website.
These contracts represented 38.7% of the number of contracts and 41% of the “total amount contracted within the same period by young people up to 35 years old,” it added.
According to the BdP, considering the total credit granted until July this year by the financial system for the purchase of permanent owner-occupied housing, “contracts with public guarantees represented 21.2% of the number of contracts and 24.2% of the total credit amount granted.”
Regarding the month of July, the BdP recorded 2,400 mortgage contracts for permanent owner-occupied housing with state guarantee, totaling 475 million euros.
According to the same data, “these contracts represented 45.6% of contracts and 46.8% of the amount contracted by young people up to 35 years old for the same purpose,” and compared to the previous month, “the number of contracts with state guarantee increased by 6.1%, and the contracted amount grew by 6.5%.”
According to the institution, at the end of last month, “32.1% (348 million euros) of the total amount allocated by the state” for guarantees under this scheme were utilized.
