Lifted the bathing advisory at the beaches of Póvoa de Varzim

A recent counter-analysis of water quality in the northern urban area indicated that microbiological levels were within quality standards, leading to the lifting of a bathing advisory by the Portuguese Environment Agency (APA), the local authority announced in a statement.

The advisory had affected the beaches of Verde, Beijinhos, Lada I and II, Hotel, and Lagoa II. Following the lifting of the advisory, blue flags were hoisted.

“Beachgoers can swim without any concerns,” it emphasized.

Bathing at these beaches had been discouraged since Thursday due to “high levels of intestinal enterococci and/or E. coli.”
