The body of a newborn was discovered late Friday afternoon at a waste treatment plant in São Domingos de Rana, Cascais.
The news, initially reported by CNN Portugal, was confirmed by Notícias ao Minuto with the Judicial Police (PJ).
The same source indicated there is no further information at this time, and the PJ is conducting an investigation.
According to CNN Portugal, the newborn was found with the umbilical cord still attached. It was noted that the solid waste treatment plant is Tratolixo, located in São Domingos de Rana.
The alert was reportedly raised at 6:05 p.m.
