The Local Health Unit (ULS) of Santa Maria announced that a German citizen injured in the elevator accident was transferred back to Germany on Friday following favorable recovery progress.
Out of the eight individuals injured in the elevator incident that were initially admitted to the Santa Maria Hospital, only one woman remains in intensive care, who is stable and showing favorable development, according to the same source.
On Friday, the ULS São José confirmed that another injured person from the Gloria elevator accident, previously stabilized and in intensive care at São José Hospital, was transferred to a healthcare facility in Germany, their country of origin.

One person remains hospitalized at São José Hospital following injuries sustained in the accident on September 3, who is currently stable.
Two individuals remain in intensive care at São Francisco Xavier Hospital, including a South Korean woman and a young Portuguese woman who was in critical condition, while another woman injured has been moved to the infirmary.
At Amadora-Sintra Hospital, a woman is still in the orthopedic ward after being transferred from São José in the days following the accident, although she is expected to be discharged soon, according to hospital sources.
The Gloria elevator, managed by Carris under municipal oversight, derailed on September 3, resulting in 16 fatalities and approximately twenty injuries involving both Portuguese nationals and foreigners from various countries. The incident is currently under investigation.
