The National Republican Guard (GNR) announced the arrest of a suspect on Thursday, managed by its Specialized Victim Support Investigation Unit (NIAVE) in Beja.
“Following a report of domestic violence, the Guard’s officers conducted police inquiries that revealed the suspect engaged in verbal and psychological abuse against the victim, his 44-year-old ex-partner,” stated the GNR’s communication regarding the incident in the Beja district.
The GNR reported that NIAVE, part of the Beja Territorial Command, executed a detention warrant and conducted a house search, leading to the seizure of two shotguns and a pistol.
The suspect was presented before the Judicial Court of Cuba, also in the Beja district, and was prohibited from staying at the victim’s residence or workplace, and from approaching the victim within a one-kilometer radius, enforced through an electronic bracelet.
