The fire was reported as controlled at 2:59 PM, about an hour and a half after the emergency services were alerted.
The National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection’s online platform indicates that the fire began at 1:32 PM, in the parish of Vila de Rei.
At 3:00 PM, the blaze was being tackled by 186 personnel, 48 vehicles, and 11 aerial units.
By 4:40 PM, the aerial units had been demobilized, leaving 146 personnel on the ground supported by 45 land-based resources.
