The GNR announced that the operation ‘RoadPol – Safety Days,’ starting on Tuesday and concluding on September 22, aims to raise awareness and encourage safer driving habits, contributing to a reduction in traffic accidents caused by aggressive driving behaviors.
The GNR reports that between January 1 and August 31, there were 1,899 infractions related to motorcycle driving, with 428 concerning the absence or incorrect use of protective helmets.
“It is important to highlight that aggressive driving, combined with excessive speed, lack of attention, and irregular maneuvers by vehicle drivers, increases the likelihood of traffic accidents, with an average of 70 fatalities daily on European roads,” the force stated.
Roadpol, of which the GNR is a national member and representative, is an organization established by European traffic police to improve road safety and law enforcement on roads.
According to the GNR’s statement, these operations aim to create a safer road environment by simultaneously addressing the main causes of accidents, seeking to positively influence road users to adopt safer behaviors.
