Attention! There are 17 municipalities in four districts at maximum fire risk.

Several municipalities in the northern and central interior and the Algarve are also at a very high risk of rural fires, according to the IPMA.

The institute forecasts that the risk of rural fires will increase from Wednesday and continue at least until the weekend due to expected hot weather.

This risk, determined by the IPMA, is classified into five levels, ranging from low to maximum. Calculations are based on factors such as air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed, and precipitation over the last 24 hours.

Due to the hot weather, the IPMA has issued a yellow warning for the districts of Bragança, Guarda, Évora, Vila Real, Beja, Castelo Branco, and Portalegre from 9:00 AM today until 6:00 PM on Thursday.

The southern coast of the island of Madeira is also under a yellow warning from 9:00 AM today until 6:00 PM on Thursday due to persistent high maximum temperatures.

The yellow warning, the least severe on a scale of three, is issued whenever there is a risk situation for certain activities dependent on the weather.

The IPMA forecasts for the continent today clear or partly cloudy skies, generally light winds, and a slight rise in maximum temperature, especially in the north and central regions.

Minimum temperatures will range between 9 degrees Celsius in Braga and 21 in Faro, and maximum temperatures between 23 in Aveiro and 37 in Évora and Beja.

For the Madeira archipelago, the forecast indicates partly cloudy skies, light to moderate winds, and a slight rise in maximum temperature, particularly in highland areas.

Temperatures will range between 21 and 28 degrees in Funchal and between 21 and 25 in Porto Santo.
